Are you using Modem or DSL internet connection on your computer and want to share your computer’s internet with other devices such as smartphone? By default your Windows PC dosen’t has Hotspot software to share internet connection with other devices, but thanks to Microsoft Windows this feature which works on Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10.
In this tutorial we will create our own Hotspot in Windows using some very easy steps. You can also skip the tutorial part and go to the download section to download our already made Hotspot, it’s size is only 0.34 KB (too small). Or you can follow this tutorial to make your own Hotspot.
Create Wi-Fi Hotspot on Windows 10 PC Without Software
Let’s create our own Hotspot in Windows PC:
Step 1: Open Notepad, copy the script below and paste it in notepad:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=TechLinu key=TechLinu
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Note: Your Hotspot’s SSID will be TechLinu and your Key (password) will be TechLinu as it appears on the script above, so you can change it there.
Step 2: Now in notepad click on File Menu, click on “Save as” and in the next window click on the dropdown (Save as type) and select All Files (see the screenshot below). Now save this file as “Hotspot.bat” without the quotations.
Step 3: Now open your saved file and Run it as Administrator!
That’s it Your hotspot is ready. Enjoy!
Note: Generally, Wi-Fi hotspot is sharable by defult, if not, you can go to network and sharing center to turn on sharing. Now, other device can easily link to this shared hotspot.
If you want to turn it off, just enter the following command in command prompt (CMD).
netsh wlan stop hostednetwork
Download Hotspot For Windows
You can download the Hotspot we made above, below. Download the files (its in archive) so first unzip it and then use it.
Software Name: Hotspot Enabler For Windows (Click here to download)
Password for Hotspot: TechLinu
Size: 0.34 KB
Any nearby Wi-Fi enabled device should see a new network appear with the SSID you defined above. They’ll be able to connect to it using your password, and can then immediately share your internet connection. Enjoy beaming!
